*An evening surgery is held on Mondays from 18.30 to 20.30. This is for pre-booked appointments only. During this period the Surgery telephone is answered by 111/out of hours service
Patients are seen by appointment during surgery hours and reception staff are available to answer your calls from 08:00 onwards.
Unless you are telephoning to make an appointment, requesting a home visit, or it is an urgent matter it would be appreciated if you could wait until after 09:30 before calling.
If you are taken ill out of hours, such as over a bank holiday weekend, there are several options for care.
Call NHS 111
In the first instance call NHS 111.
111 is available 24 hours a day / seven days a week. When you call, a fully trained adviser can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or a GP, and can now arrange a face-to-face appointment if appropriate.
This face-to-face appointment might be with the out-of-hours’ service, which runs from 6.30pm to 8.00am on weekdays and all day at weekends and bank holidays.
NHS 111 might also be able to offer you a face-to-face General Practice appointment in the evening, at the weekend and over Bank Holiday Monday itself.
This appointment could be with a GP, a nurse, or other appropriate healthcare professional, depending on your need. These appointments are part of Improving Access to General Practice Services (IAGPS) programme.
A weekend walk in service is available at the Crescent Providence Surgery at 12-14 Walpole Road , Boscombe. They are open from 8am to 7.45pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Their telephone number is 01202 720174.
Please remember that if you have an eye emergency to call the Eye Unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital before attending. They operate an appointment system and are open from 8am to 6pm, weekdays, 8.30am to 6pm on Saturdays and 8.30am to 2pm on Sundays. Outside of these hours you can still attend the Emergency Dept. at Royal Bournemouth or Poole Hospitals.
The Eye Unit number is 01202 704181.
